၁။ ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ် မောင်တောမြို့နယ် သင်္ဘောလှကျေးရွာ၌ တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်နေသည့် ပညာရေးဝန်ထမ်းနှစ်ဦးဖြစ်သူ ဆရာကြီးဦးဘိုဝင်း နှင့် ဆရာမ ဒေါ်ဥမ္မာကျော်တို့သည် ၂၀၂၂-ခုနှစ် ဇွန်လ (၁၆) ရက်နေ့တွင် မိမိဌာန မြို့နယ်ရုံးသို့ သွားရောက်နေစဉ် မောင်တောမြို့နယ်အတွင်း အမည်မသိ အဖွဲ့တစ်ခု၏ ဖမ်းဆီးခေါ်ဆောင်ခြင်း ခံခဲ့ကြရပါသည်။ တောင်းဆိုငွေ ပေးအပ်မှသာ ၎င်းတို့အား ပြန်လွှတ်ပေးမည် ဖြစ်ကြောင်း အဆိုပါအဖွဲ့၏ ပြောဆို ထိန်းသိမ်းခြင်းကို ခံထားရပါသည်။

Statement about the Kidnapping of Two Teachers in Maungdaw Township

Date – 21st June 2022

(1) Primary school headmaster U Bo Win and teacher Daw Ohmmar Kyaw, of Thinbaw Hla village primary school in Maungdaw, were abducted by an unknown group of people while travelling to report to their township office on 16th June 2022. The teachers have been held captive since then, and were asked for an amount of money in return for their release.

(2) It has passed more than five days since the abduction of the two teachers. Being the only entity which exercises the sovereignty of the state, the Myanmar government is wholly responsible for securing the release of the two victims, and is expected to do its utmost making the best use of security apparatuses at their disposal such as the military and the police.

(3) Non-government stakeholders and actors, in and around the area, are kindly requested to help, as much as they can, in striving for the freedom of the two captive teachers.

(4) The Bangladeshi government is kindly requested to co-operate with their Myanmar counterpart as the situation demands, lest cross-border networking might as well involve in this particular crime.

(5) We urge all the people of Arakan, who have been worried so much along with the families of the victims and the Arakan Front Party, to stay strong.
